The Institute for Smart, Sustainable, and Resilient Infrastructure ISSRI of the National Technical University of Athens NTUA is a pioneering initiative in Critical Infrastructure resilience. Building on NTUA extensive expertise in the design, operation, maintenance, and protection of diverse infrastructure systems, ISSRI bridges academic research with innovation and practical application to address the challenges of interconnected Critical Infrastructures.

Τhe Institute adopts a holistic approach to develop smart and resilient infrastructures, analyzing and quantifying interdependencies between infrastructure systems and integrating cutting-edge technologies into their design, construction, and operation, enhancing efficiency, sustainability, and resilience against a range of threats, including natural disasters, climate change, cyberattacks, and technological disruptions.

Combining advanced research with innovation in infrastructure management, smart technologies, and resilience strategies, ISSRI is positioned at the forefront of Critical Infrastructure science and practice, both nationally and at the EU level.

The Institute aspires to serve as an interdisciplinary hub, uniting research groups from all NTUA Schools.
